Background:

Pitch Labs is a 501(c)3 non-profit that is taking strides to change the face of entrepreneurship. As it stands right now, obtaining entrepreneurial knowledge can be expensive and seems only available to limited amounts of people. However, millions of entrepreneurs worldwide know that they can make innovations that will change and shape society forever. Pitch Labs is helping entrepreneurs unlock the resources they need by creating a free online library, hosting virtual events, and opening clubs in schools to allow entrepreneurs to unlock their skills and do what they are meant to do: create!

How this Role ties into Our Mission:

At Pitch Labs, our mission revolves around bridging educational divides to empower entrepreneurs to build successful ventures. While our library boasts an extensive array of insightful articles spanning various domains, we encounter challenges in ensuring online visibility and accessibility for aspiring entrepreneurs. As our Website SEO Specialist, your primary objective will be to enhance our digital footprint, guiding prospective readers to our platform where they can access invaluable resources, including articles, events, and community clubs.

In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate closely with several Department heads to craft and execute strategic ad campaigns tailored to meet predefined objectives. Your expertise in SEO strategies will be instrumental in optimizing our website's performance, driving organic traffic, and elevating our online presence within relevant search engine results.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive keyword research to identify high-traffic, relevant terms and phrases.
  • Implementing on-page and off-page SEO tactics to improve website ranking and visibility.
  • Analyzing website traffic and user behavior to identify areas for optimization and enhancement.
  • Monitoring and reporting on SEO performance metrics, providing insights to inform future strategies.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and algorithm updates to maintain competitive edge.
  • Meeting once a week with our Department Managers in Marketing & Technology
  • Creating GitHub tickets to address any SEO-related issues
  • Following up with Developers handling the issues to ensure fixes are made as necessary
  • Converse with Marketing, Library, and other content-based teams to provide suggestions for improvements

Requirements:

  • High-level understanding of SEO
  • Willingness to research and analyze issues
  • Must understand SEO on Google, Yahoo, Bing
  • Experience optimizing at least one website previously

Time Commitment: THIS IS AN UNPAID, REMOTE #WFH VOLUNTEER POSITION. Therefore, we are extremely flexible with time and just ask that you contribute what you can. If you have exams, work, or family events come up, you are more than able to take a break. During times when you are an active volunteer, we ask that you simply contribute ideally 2-5 hours weekly for at least 6 months.
